Located in the heart of Isleworth, the Isleworth Campus is the oldest site within Syon Manor College which currently supports a small cohort of 55 students with autism, offering a tailored, nurturing environment designed to meet a broad range of individual needs.
The Intent:
The campus is dedicated to preparing students for life beyond college by:
- Equipping them with practical skills for daily living and independence, including personal care, communication, and social interaction.
- Offering academic and vocational pathways tailored to each student’s abilities, from functional skills and GCSEs to practical qualifications.
- Supporting emotional well-being and personal growth by building confidence, resilience, and strong relationships.
- Providing opportunities for work-related learning, community participation, and future-focused development.
The implementation
Each student’s journey is shaped by their EHCP and personal goals. The curriculum is flexible and highly personalised, incorporating:
- A variety of academic, vocational, and life-skills programmes, such as the Duke of Edinburgh Award, BTECs.
- Diverse teaching methods, including adaptive technologies and community-based learning, to ensure accessibility and engagement.
- Therapeutic support seamlessly integrated into daily routines, with clinicians on hand to address emotional and physical needs.
- Small class sizes of 1 to 8 students, allowing for focused teaching and individualised learning.
- Career-focused activities, including CV writing, job shadowing, and independent travel training, supported by a dedicated careers lead.
